License
Update: 13 February 2026
You can find the license for each font in the attributes section on its page. Below is a general explanation of what each license allows and restricts.
Personal Use Only
This font is free for personal use. You may use it for non-commercial projects that do not generate income, such as personal design practice, school projects, invitations, gifts, or social media content for private use. Commercial use is not allowed unless the license file included in the download explicitly permits it.
Commercial Use
For commercial use of any font, always check the license file included in the download package (such as readme.txt, license.txt, or license.pdf).
If no license information is provided, commercial use is not allowed unless you receive written permission from the font author.
Fonts that are explicitly marked as Public Domain can be used for commercial purposes.
Commercial use may include:
- Creating branding materials such as logos (for you or your clients)
- Using the font in design work for websites, social media, and digital content
- Creating artwork for products such as packaging, posters, clothing, or other commercial items
For large-volume projects, broadcasting, or embedding fonts in apps/websites, you may need an extended or separate license depending on the author’s terms. If the license terms are unclear, please contact the font author before using the font commercially.
SIL Open Font License (OFL 1.1)
SIL Open Font License (OFL 1.1) is a free and open license that allows you to use, modify, and redistribute the font for both personal and commercial purposes.
What you can do
You may use this font in personal and commercial projects, including branding, logos, posters, packaging, videos, and social media. You may also embed the font in documents and design files, host it on your own website (when supported), and create derivative versions, as long as derivatives remain under the OFL license.
What you cannot do
You may not sell the font as a standalone product. The original license and copyright notices must remain included. If the font contains a Reserved Font Name (RFN), you cannot rename the font in a way that violates the RFN terms.
Redistribution and bundling
You may redistribute the font or include it inside templates, themes, software, and other products, as long as you include the original license file (OFL.txt) and keep the required notices.
Additional terms
Some fonts may include extra notes from the author inside the download package (such as readme.txt). Always check the included license and documentation files for the most accurate permissions.
SIL OPEN FONT LICENSE Version 1.1 – 26 February 2007
Apache License 2.0 (Apache-2.0)
Apache License 2.0 is a permissive open-source license that allows you to use, modify, and redistribute the font for both personal and commercial purposes, as long as you follow the notice and attribution requirements included with the font package.
What you can do
You may use this font in personal and commercial projects, including branding, logos, posters, packaging, videos, and social media. You may also modify the font and redistribute the original or modified versions, including bundling it inside templates, themes, apps, software, and other products.
What you must do (notices and attribution)
When redistributing the font (original or modified), you must:
- Include a copy of the Apache License 2.0 (usually as
LICENSEorLICENSE-2.0.txt) and keep existing copyright and license notices - If the download package includes a NOTICE file, include it (or its required contents) in your redistribution, in a reasonable place such as documentation, an “About” section, or accompanying files.
- If you modify the font, state that changes were made (for example in documentation, release notes, or a modified file header).
What you cannot do / limitations
- You may not use the author’s or licensor’s trade names, trademarks, service marks, or product names in a way that suggests endorsement, except for reasonable attribution and reproducing required NOTICE content.
- The font is provided “as is”, without warranty, and with limitations of liability as described in the license.
Patent clause (applies to the licensed work)
Apache License 2.0 includes an express patent license from contributors. If you initiate patent litigation claiming the work infringes a patent, the patent license granted to you under Apache 2.0 for that work can terminate.
Additional terms
Some fonts may include extra notes from the author (such as readme.txt or special attribution notes). Always check the included LICENSE and NOTICE files in the download package for the most accurate requirements, and follow those terms if there is any conflict.
